Registration for EARLI SIG14 2022 and all associated social events can only be made online through the ConfTool conference management system. Online registration for the conference will be possible from March 30th.

Registration fees include access to the conference facilities, conference material, coffee breaks, and lunches. Conference fees will also cover the attendance for the social event (Gala Dinner at Schützenhof on Thursday).

Both doctoral students and members of EARLI SIG14 are eligable for a discount for standard registration prices. It is advised that you become an EARLI member AND that you join SIG14 ( before you register to the conference.

** To be eligible for this price category you need to confirm your student status (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD level).
  • All participants attending the conference will have to register as conference participants.
  • For each contribution to the conference, all presenting authors will have to be registered as conference participants.
  • For symposia, all presenting authors, chairs, and discussants involved will have to be registered as conference participants.
  • The registration of participation is binding.
  • Registrations fees are paid in Euro (€). Payments can be made through bank transfer before the start of the conference. No other payment methods are accepted. If you are coming from the outside of the EU and have issues with bank transfer, please contact us (
  • In the case of cancelation of registration, a refund of 50% will be permitted until one month before the start of the conference (16. July 2022). In all other cases, no refunds will be provided. 
  • The participation fees are required to be addressed on registration and are payable within 7 days following submission of the registration (but not later than 7 days before the starting day of the event). 
  • Participation is not guaranteed until full payment of the registration fee is received.
  • The conference program may be subject to changes.
  1. Create a user account: If you have NOT YET done, please go to and create a user account with the email address used in your submission (i.e., the email address this mail went to). If you already have a user account you can just use your known credentials (username and password) and login.
  2. Register for the conference: After you have an account you are able to officially register. Just login and click on “Register as Participant”. After clicking this link you can choose between three price groups (Students, EARLI SIG14 Members, Non EARLI Members). In a second step you can indicate your dietary preference for the conference dinner as well as whether you want to participate in the informal gathering. In a third step you may change your invoice address and enter a EU VAT ID if necessary. In the last step, you can check all inputs and confirm your registration.
  3. Payment of fees: Due to the new European rules of data privacy and security it was not possible to organise credit card payment for registration. This was a big disappointment for our organising committee. Payment of the conference fees is only possible via bank transfer. We are sorry for this, because we know that this payment method is inconvenient for most of us! After registration you will get an email that contains (a) all information for transferring the money to the university’s bank account and (b) an official invoice that you may use to reimburse the fees from your institution. Please pay the conference fees within 7 days after registration using the details provided in the mail or on the invoice. Participation is not guaranteed until full payment of the registration fee is received.
  4. Check registration status: Whether your payment has been received and processed can be found out on the main page of after login.

The conference itself will begin at 9am on Wednesday, August 17th. The last session will end on Friday, August 19th at 3:30pm with a farewell afterwards until about 4:15pm. There will also be an informal gathering in the evening on Tuesday, August 16th.
